Our systems are the product of our knowledge and experience as well as our love for flying. Hours in the hangar and in the cockpit, talks with our Friends: pilots and mechanics, gave us the spur to develop a better pilot-aircraft interface.
System was developed as “fun and safe to fly”.
The Integrated Avionics System is intended for the ultralightclass aircraft and non-certified Light Sport Aircraft. Its purpose is to provide the pilot with the flight and engine performance data.
We designed the instruments for the greatest readability. Intuitive graphics immediately convey key information to help the pilot focus on flying, not scrutinizing the instrument board.
The high quality LCD displays of wide viewing angle, with adjustable brightness, and anti-glare protection stay readable in any lighting conditions to give the pilot the sense of control, safety, and fun of flying.
The instruments are sturdy. The casings as well as the encoder knobs are made of anodised aluminium for durability and aesthetics. The displays are protected by means of high quality anti-glare coated acrylic for good readability in sunshine.
Currently, the instruments are offered in two types: single displays in a standard casing of 80 mm diameter (AM1), and quadruple displays (AM4).
An important feature of the instruments is small mounting depth of about 40 mm (including connectors to attach the device to the airframe wiring). Each single display is equipped with only one small connector. This makes the instrument mounting and servicing easy.
Compact shape and small size makes the instruments light. Despite sturdy metal casings, AM1 displays’ mass is no more than 175 g a piece.
Another advantage of our Integrated Avionics System is the digital transmission. Therefore, our instruments are connected in series. As a result, the cable harness is simple and light, easy to install, and occupying only a small volume of the space behind the instrument panel.
The Integrated Avionics System’s power demand is small. The whole system, with two measurement modules and five AM1 displays consumes no more than 6.5 W. A single AM1 display requires less than 1 W.
The instruments are to make the pilot enjoy the flight. Intuitive colour codes used in the displays indicate the status of the aircraft at a single glance. If all operation parameters stay within normal operating range, the digits and bar graphs are green. If any parameters require the pilot’s attention, the corresponding graphs and figures turn orange for warning. To alarm the pilot on parameters leaving acceptable limits, the graphs and figures turn red. A pair of diodes in each display change colour accordingly and, in the case of alarm, attract the pilot’s attention by flashing. Therefore, information on the status of the aircraft is conveyed immediately.
Our Integrated Avionics System is intended to help not only the pilot, but also the maintenance crew. The flight and engine operation is continuously monitored. The system automatically detects instances of the parameters exceeding desired values. All these instances are recorded (when, for how long, to what extent a parameter was outside the desired range) without engaging the pilot’s attention. This way, the system becomes the pilot’s personal assistant and facilitates the aircraft logbook record keeping. The records are also a source of precise information for the maintenance crew.
As it is better to prevent than to cure, the system monitors key operating parameters of both the engine and the aircraft. It records how often, to what extent and for how long parameter values were close to limitation of the desired range. Analysis of the records enables the maintenance crew to detect unwelcome trends before they develop into a failure.
